Reflexology (Light Touch)
Reflexology is a beautiful treatment that engages the whole body by stimulating reflex points found on the feet or the hands.
These reflexes are believed to connect to areas of the body including major organs, systems of the body, nerves and glands.
When the feet or hands are gently stimulated with specific techniques and strokes it is believed that a very deep state of relaxation may occur and this may prompt the body to activate its self-healing mechanisms.
Light Touch Reflexology is a style of reflexology that is gentle and powerful all at once. Like Myofascial Release the touch is light but may feel deep to the recipient as it allows the feet and hands to surrender to the gentle touch being given and therefore become open to the body and minds self-healing modalities.
The origins of Reflexology is believed to date back to ancient times, as evidence has been found in artwork depicted by the ancient Egyptian, Japanese, Indian and Native American cultures.

How can Reflexology benefit me?
Reflexology aims to relax the body and soothe the mind and reconnect you with your true spirit.
This is thought to be accomplished through physically releasing stress and tension in the body when the feet are stroked and kneaded at the reflex points. This is based on the premise that the entire physical body is mapped out on both of the feet and both of the hands.
The physical body is often said to hold onto stress, tension and negative thoughts and beliefs, which may then have a cumulative detrimental effect.
This may then slow the body down over time and create energy blockages that result in reduced vibrancy and feelings of dis-ease. Reflexology seems to encourage the energy to flow in the body again, unhindered, restoring nurturing vitality and balance.
